Exciting news down here in the Great State of Texas! The new TEX Rail commuter rail plan agreement was signed by Fort Worth Transportation Authority, Dallas Area Rapid Transit, Amtrak, Union Pacific Railroad, and the Fort Worth and Western Railroad. The signing took place at the Fort Worth Intermodal Transportation Center in Downtown Fort Worth.
The goal of TEX Rail is to offer commuter rail service between Grapevine, Terminal B of Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, and Downtown Fort Worth. The new route will have ten stations total.
Service is expected to be launched by 2018. This additional commuter rail service will certainly add to the travel options commuters have in Dallas and Tarrant County. Great news!
