YourToyTrains, Model Trains website, likes to keep pace about new innovations in railroading. On April 22, 2015, a Central Japan Railways mag-lev bullet train broke its own record as the fastest train in the world. Operating on a line near Tokyo, the train reached 603 km/hr (374 mph). In commercial service this maglev train, using electromagnetics to create virtually no friction, will be able to carry up to 900 passengers. One innovation (see photograph) is an extremely slanted nose for amazing aerodynamics
The current fastest train in commercial service is the maglev in China used from the airport to the city, which reaches 431 km/hr (288 mph). Watch out, China....Japan is on the way!
